Simmer Pot Guide & FAQ

Use this guide with the directions on your Wall-Learn Studios blend. Recipes and materials vary; follow your pouch instructions where they differ.

How to use your blend

  1. Use a saucepan suitable for your stovetop. Use a slow cooker only where your blend's instructions allow it, following the appliance manual. Remove all packaging.
  2. Most listed blends start with 2–3 cups of water. Fuck Tomorrow specifies covering the blend with water; Blushing Citrus specifies a pot of water without a measured amount. Keep the contents wet and leave room to prevent overflow.
  3. Heat on low to a gentle simmer, never a rolling boil. Stove dial numbers vary, so judge the water rather than using a fixed dial number.
  4. Stay nearby and check the water frequently. Refill before the level gets low. Set a repeating phone reminder as a backup, not a substitute for supervision.
  5. Turn off the heat before leaving the kitchen, leaving home, or sleeping. Never let the pot boil dry. Keep hot pots and blends out of reach of children and pets.

How long should I simmer?

The product directions reviewed do not give a universal session duration. Simmer only while you can supervise and maintain the water level. Stop when you are done enjoying the scent, when the scent fades, or when you cannot keep watching the pot. A timer or slow cooker does not make unattended use safe.

Should I add essential oils?

No extra oils are needed. Use the blend as supplied with water; do not add essential oils, fragrance oils, alcohol, or other ingredients. Blushing Citrus, Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice, Because Therapy Is Expensive, and Snowfall Spice already list essential-oil infusions. Other blends include scented materials. These are home-fragrance blends, not food or tea. Do not eat the ingredients or drink the liquid.

Recipe and material differences

These are the listed ingredients and materials, not recipes for adding extra ingredients. Optional materials in a listing may not be in every pouch.

  • Cranberry Feast: dried cranberries, orange peel, apple slices, cinnamon, clove, rosemary, chamomile, and star anise.
  • Dead Inside but Festive: orange peel, cinnamon, cloves, star anise, chili flake, rose petals, allspice, patchouli, and vanilla notes; the listing also mentions optional hibiscus, black lava salt, or vanilla bean.
  • Fuck Today: coffee beans and espresso grounds, cinnamon, vanilla bean, sarsaparilla root, cedar shavings, cloves, cacao nibs, scented Himalayan salt, putka pods, and mini coffee-mug accents.
  • Farmhouse Harvest Bake: apple, orange peel, cinnamon, cloves, star anise, rosemary, ginger, nutmeg, optional rose hips or hibiscus, and pecan wood chips scented with vanilla and almond.
  • Blushing Citrus: orange peel, lemongrass, hibiscus, rose, mint, pink peppercorns, cardamom, citrus botanicals, and essential oils.
  • Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice: cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger, orange, apple, putka pods, acorns or pinecones, seasonal botanicals, and essential oils. The listing permits half a pouch for a smaller room.
  • Fuck Tomorrow: dried apples, dried oranges, and cinnamon sticks. Apple, orange, and dark clove are listed scent notes; do not treat scent notes as a full ingredient list.
  • Because Therapy Is Expensive: lavender, chamomile, scented putka pods, vanilla bean, citrus peel, calendula, and lavender, bergamot, grapefruit, and vanilla oils.
  • Snowfall Spice: cinnamon, orange, star anise, cloves, rosemary, pine needles, cranberries, acorns, natural wood snowflakes, Himalayan salt, sweet-orange-oil-infused loofa, and balsam-fir-oil-infused putka pods.
  • Pink Orchard Breeze: orange, lemon peel, apple, cranberries, hibiscus, butterfly pea flowers, spearmint, fragrance-infused sola wood, and vanilla accents.

Can I reuse my blend?

Follow the individual pouch directions. Cranberry Feast, Dead Inside but Festive, Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice, Because Therapy Is Expensive, Snowfall Spice, and Pink Orchard Breeze list 2–3 uses. Fuck Today lists up to 3 uses. Fuck Tomorrow lists 1–2 reuses within 24 hours, refrigerated between uses. Farmhouse Harvest Bake says to cool, cover, and refrigerate for reuse over several days. The reviewed Blushing Citrus directions do not specify a reuse count.

For blends that permit reuse, switch off the heat, let the mixture cool enough to handle safely, then cover and refrigerate promptly between uses. Add fresh water before reheating. Reuse counts are not a guarantee of freshness. Discard a mixture with mold, an unusual odor, or uncertain storage history. Do not leave a wet blend out overnight. Do not extend a blend beyond its own instructions.

How do I clean up?

  1. Turn off the heat and let the pot and contents cool before handling.
  2. Strain out solids before disposing of liquid. Keep coffee grounds, wood pieces, pods, petals, and other solids out of drains and garbage disposals.
  3. Dispose of spent solids in household waste unless your local compost program specifically accepts their ingredients, scented materials, and decorative elements. Do not assume the whole blend is compostable.
  4. Wash the pot with warm water and dish soap according to the cookware instructions. Soak residue if the cookware permits it. Botanicals and colorants can leave residue or discoloration; stain-free results are not guaranteed.

What about pets and sensitive households?

Natural ingredients do not guarantee safety around pets or people sensitive to fragrance. Keep ingredients and liquid inaccessible, ventilate the space, and stop use if irritation occurs. Ask your veterinarian before using scented blends around animals, especially birds. Do not use this guide as a pet-safety guarantee.
